The 8 Beatitudes, or blessings, or the be-attitudes, are the core of the core teachings Jesus came here to share, but what do they really mean?

5:7 #5 Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.

There is more to this beatitude than the obvious. The Hebrew word for mercy is one of several untranslatable words where our English is insufficient. It means to see others as God sees them. When we do that, like God, not only do we not judge them, but also we respond with compassion and understanding. Even more, it is seeing ourselves in others, like a reflection. It is being that which we choose to receive. We can only see as God sees through surrender.

So the translation of the fifth beatitude might read:

O the god-like joy when we get right inside other people until we can see with their eyes, think with their thoughts, feel with their feelings, see them as God sees them, for when we do, our hearts open with love and compassion. To be able to see as God sees is only possible through surrender. In doing so, we, too, receive mercy. That is joy!

The 8 Beatitudes, or blessings, or the be-attitudes, are the core of the core teachings Jesus came here to share, but what do they really mean?

5:6 #4 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.

The hunger which this beatitude describes is no genteel hunger. It is the hunger of the person who is starving for food, and the thirst of one who will die unless they drink.

There is one further point which only emerges in the Greek. It could have said I want some of the bread, but not the whole loaf. I want some of the water, but not the entire container. The wording Jesus used means I want the whole loaf of bread. I want the entire container of water. I want it all.

I really struggled for days with the research on this beatitude because whatever I found, Jesus told me through prayer was inadequate for what he really said. That it lacked the total truth and the power of this message. So finally after several days, and still being told I was missing something important, I was guided to do an automatic writing exercise where I pray, ask the question, and then write whatever comes through to me. This is what I received:

Write what I tell you. Write of love. Write of longing for a right relationship with God. A loving relationship. A powerful relationship. That the only way we can be right with God is to surrender to God’s will, and allow God to direct our relationship. A right relationship with God is not from us directing the way, but God doing the Divine will through us, empowering us, empowering others. That is a right relationship with God.

I asked if there is anything else?  He said,

It’s our hearts. The longing in our hearts. We have to really want a right relationship with God, not to be afraid of it, but to embrace it. Not a tepid desire, but an all or nothing quest, knowing that this is where lies our bliss and we won’t’ settle for anything less than the highest and best. He said talk about the Truth. The burning Truth. The purifying truth. A truth that challenges us to dare to live as God would have us live. How much, how badly do we want a right relationship with God? A loving relationship? A powerful relationship? An all-time 24/7 relationship, not just when we don’t have anything better to do. All or nothing.

What I finally realized:

It’s not that we must have goodness so that we can connect with God, it’s that we connect with God so that we can have goodness. God is our source for goodness. If we want all from God, then we must first surrender and give our all to God.

Wow. That really is a challenge. Like Jesus shared during the prayer message, there is only one way we can accomplish this directive, and it is with…

Surrender, for only through surrender do we have the total access to and fulfillment of goodness and right relationship with God for which we hunger. Do you sense the surrender pattern Jesus is teaching us in the first half of the beatitudes? When you really think about it, Surrender is the answer to everything. Surrender is the answer.

So…

O the godlike joy when we hunger and thirst for a right relationship with God as the highest priority in our lives because we want all that God offers. In our heart-longing desperation we surrender everything we are and do to the Divine, allowing the loving, purifying and powerful goodness to so fill us to overflowing that we can’t but live and share that goodness all of the time – God’s will flowing through us. Through surrender we are satisfied. This is joy

5:5 #3 Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.

Meek doesn’t mean weak, wimpy, shyly cowering in silence. In Aramaic, the word translated as “meek” means literally those who have softened what is rigid inside. That means when we are rigid about our thinking we are not open to any other viewpoint, even God’s. In our rigidity, we block ourselves from receiving and experiencing the Real Truth, the Eternal Truth. When we soften inside, we become teachable.

Restated:

Oh the god-like joy when we soften what is rigid inside and become teachable, opening to and accepting the Eternal Truth, freeing us to experience the highest and best physical life possible while on planet earth. This is joy.

The 8 Beatitudes, or blessings, or the be-attitudes, are the core of the core teachings Jesus came here to share, but what do they really mean?

5:4 #2 Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.

The specific Greek word for ‘to mourn’ used originally, is the strongest word for mourning in the Greek language. It is the word which is used for mourning for the dead, for the passionate lament for one who was loved.

For what do we mourn as if it were a type of death? When we are spiritually destitute and finally surrender all to our Source, we realize what a mess we’ve made of our lives. We mourn for our regrets, our mistakes, things we said or did wrong, perhaps hurting ourselves, or others. Words and actions we wish we could retract but we can’t, regrets that tear us up inside. We mourn that, in our ignorance, we blunder our way through life, too often missing out on what might have been our bliss if we’d seen or understood more clearly. It is when we look back on our lives at the moment of death and regret what we didn’t have the courage to go for and that it is now too late.

So, paraphrased:

Oh the God-like joy when we finally admit and mourn for our mistakes, for the shambles we made of our lives, because we are comforted by the realization that, mistakes and all, we are loved by God anyway, unconditionally, without judgment, which is precisely how we are to love ourselves, and others. There is no greater comfort than this. To be loved anyway. This is joy.

The 8 Beatitudes, or blessings, or the be-attitudes, are the core of the core teachings Jesus came here to share.

What we often don’t realize is the power within the statements. To many of us they have become meaningless. So often when we read through the Beatitudes we skim over them without any realization of the power and depth of their meaning. For one, our lifestyle is so very different, and for another, many of the words either had no accurate translation in the English language, or often the meanings don’t make sense any more, or they come across ho-hum, or they’ve actually come to mean the opposite of the original language.

First, the phrase “blessed are,” when the original Greek word is translated accurately, it means “Oh, the godlike joy of…” The reason that is important is because they are not just wishes of what might be; they are not hopes for future blessings; they are celebrations of what exists right now, at this moment. They are exultant shouts of joy for the Divine blessings that nothing in this physical world can ever take away from us.

5:3 #1 Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Poor in spirit, (not financially, but in spirit). The original meaning for poor spoken at the time describes absolute and abject poverty. it describes the poverty which is beaten to its knees, someone who is absolutely destitute.  Why is that something to celebrate? Because it celebrates the person who is so spiritually destitute they realize their own utter lack of resources to meet life, and with nowhere else to turn, put their whole trust in God.  It means surrender, the most significant choice we make. Surrender isn’t only about giving, it is mainly about receiving. We are to empty ourselves in surrender so that total love and Truth and guidance can flood into us and fill us to overflowing without restriction. That is when we truly celebrate the fullness of life that is ours to experience from that inner kingdom of heaven that is within us. Not from anything outside of us, but Inside of us always. That is freedom. That is true joy. To personalize this proclamation of triumph.

Oh, the godlike joy when we feel so spiritually destitute that we finally surrender our lives to God, putting all of our trust in our indwelling Unlimited Supplier, not a human.  This is joy!

Truth Worth Dying For

If you have been following me, you are aware that Jesus called me to serve with him as part of a spiritual team. FYI, he is eager to co-partner with anyone who says “Use me.” Jesus is now my Spiritual Mentor/Guide and I’m blessed to receive Divine messages that are meant for everyone in order to help us all with our daily lives.

THIS DIVINE MESSAGE shows a better way, a freeing way, an empowering way, the True Way.

I grew up attending a beautiful church. I enjoyed being in the historic Art Deco building with the light streaming like rainbows through the tall stained glass windows. I learned much there and received a wonderful foundation. I also loved reading the Bible daily and read the Bible several times as a youth and an adult, studying authors who pulled the meanings of the words from manuscripts in the original languages.

However, in my studies, I questioned some of the accepted beliefs. One was that meditation was sinful—occult. In reality, meditation is one of the most freeing and rewarding undertakings I’ve ever done. Other beliefs I questioned were that we are born in sin and that Jesus died to save us from our sins. I do believe Jesus died for us, but he did so because he dared to teach the truth—a truth so heretical, it led to the cross.

Vision: One time during a meditation this vision slipped into my mind elucidating the differences between the religion practiced in Jesus’ time, and the truth he dared preach. Your religion doesn’t affect the truth; Christian or not, the truth is the same.

To envision what I experienced:

Imagine you are within a maze made out of tall shrubs higher than your head. In this maze, you can only see the dark, straight-sided shrubs, the pathway, and the rectangle of the heavenly sky that is high above, seemingly beyond your reach. The tall, plant-formed walls represent the man-defined rules and regulations you have to follow to be considered ‘good’. If you make a mistake or break these rules, you must suffer the punishment from a vengeful and jealous God—an eye-for-an- eye retribution and judgment. There are so many claustrophobic walls in this maze that confine and direct, that one wrong turn, and you could get lost—maybe forever.

Then one day, a stranger calling himself Jesus opens a door within the shrub at the end of the pathway and a golden light shines through the opening to guide you to a better way. Enticed, you step from the dark maze into the light. The man-defined walls fall away.

You are now in a meadow, surrounded by wildflowers and fresh air and sunshine and a sky that surrounds you and is part of the air you breathe. There is freedom in this meadow filled with joy, love and laughter.

Jesus said:

“Much of what you’ve been taught to believe is an illusion. Here is the truth:

* God is love, peace, joy and forgiveness, not fear, jealousy, vindictiveness and revenge.

* The Kingdom of God is within you.

* You and God are one.

* If you believe, you can work miracles.

* Your beliefs shape your life.

* The powerful connection I have with God is the same powerful connection for you.”

The leaders of the day during Jesus time were furious, and frightened. The opposing views Jesus taught were a danger to them as a cohesive society. If rebellions occurred because of Jesus’ heretical teachings, the Roman’s could use the uprisings as an excuse to slaughter the Jewish people. Even more, Jesus‘ views threatened the power of the Jewish spiritual leaders and their very existence. To protect the Jewish people as a race, and for their own power, the leaders commanded Jesus to recant, or die.

And yet, despite the anger, the accusations, the betrayal and the threat to his own life, he never wavered from telling the real truth. How many of us might default and express denial to save our own life? How many of us if confronted by a robber who vowed to spare us if we denied our beliefs, whatever they might be, would say anything to save ourselves, knowing we could disavow it later because we, in our hearts, didn’t believe it? We would merely be doing what we had to do to survive.

* The strength of Jesus’ message, of his sacrifice, is that he didn’t merely preach his truth, or live it when convenient. He lived his truth, unto death.

So in essence, he did die for us, by giving his life so that we, too, would know that truth. He spread his messages to all who would hear and he lived according to his ‘knowing’ of the truth.

By living his truth, he changed the world. How different would the world be if he hadn’t done so? How different would the world be if you lived your truth?

Meaning: The challenge is in knowing what that truth is and daring to live it. As Jesus said, the eternal truth is the eternal truth and is beyond any man-defined interpretations which are often twisted according to particular agendas. The only way to know the real truth is from the Inner Divine Source. Even the knowing of truth is challenging. How do you know that what you are hearing, sensing from within your Inner God connection is accurate?

You are to ask Jesus, listen, then ask again, until you are certain, without doubt, that you are receiving the God-truth. Don’t depend on anyone else to decide that truth for you. Yes, you receive the truth from talks and books and from other’s hearts. But are they the real truth? What rings true for you? The responsibility for that ‘knowing’ is up to you, along with your Divine Guide. What if you follow someone else’s claim of what is the truth, only to realize later they were wrong?

Work with your spiritual mentor in co-creating your life and learning the eternal truth. Beware teachings claiming that only they know the real God, and that if you believe otherwise you are damned. Those claims are not the truth. How can you know? Because—

God is love. It’s that easy.

You are responsible, with Divine guidance, for learning your own truth, then living it. In doing so, you’ll change your own world, which changes the world around you.

Don’t Throw Away the Gift Because You Don’t Like the Wrapping

If you have been following me, you are aware that Jesus called me to serve with him as part of a spiritual team. FYI, he is eager to co-partner with anyone who says “Use me.” Jesus is now my Spiritual Mentor/Guide and I’m blessed to receive Divine messages that are meant for everyone in order to help us all with our daily lives.

THIS DIVINE MESSAGE is where Jesus shares how his teachings were misinterpreted and that the true meaning of what he came to impart has been twisted into the opposite of the lessons he brought to the world.

The phrase “Don’t throw away the gift because you don’t like the wrapping” is true of actual packages and especially of people. There is a great timeless gift in this message.

The true treasure of the eternal truth messages Jesus came to earth to share has been wrapped so many times in so many different unattractive, misunderstood wrappings, that people often discard the entire package, rejecting the gold inside along with the outer dross. There are people who are loving and open-minded for all kinds of different messages but will walk out of the room if the name Easter, or Christmas, or Christ, or Christian, or Christ Consciousness, or Jesus is mentioned. Even the name, God. And yet, bear with me here, there truly is a Universal message for all despite your beliefs.

Jesus said:

“Easter (and Christmas, or any Christian holiday) isn’t about the messenger (Jesus), it’s about the message. I didn’t create the Truth that I willingly gave my physical life to share with the world. I merely illuminated what was always and is forever true— the eternal truth for everyone—because if what I embodied and lived was for only one person, what was the point? My life and messages serve as examples of what everyone can be—what you can be, and are. It doesn’t matter who gets the credit because only one truly receives the credit—the Originator, the Creator, the Infinite, God.”

The vision that I received in connection with this message:

One Source: The Kingdom of God is within you

An image flashed into my mind of a softly glowing silhouette like a gingerbread figure in a cookie-cutter shape, with deeper-toned outside edges and a rich, softly glowing golden-beige within the lines.

The shape appeared in front of a background of the identical glowing inner color, the smaller obviously created from the larger Source. Multiple umbilical-type cords (the same color as the Source and with a darkened outline to define the shapes and lines) connected the being from within the Source that reached beyond my vision without end.

Jesus said,

“Through these ever-connecting cords flow your spiritual blood, forever feeding you nutrients such as wisdom, power, guidance and compassion.”

“And love,” I added, surprised at the omission.

He said:

“Love is part of all of them. What is wisdom without love? How can there be compassion without love? Power without love would be ill-used and thus no true power at all. And guidance to what and where? If there is no love, then you are mis-guided.

“And if you notice, you and all of creation are the same as the Source, made from the Source, fed from the Source of the Source.

“Remember when I said, ‘The Kingdom of God is within you’? The image is a visual of how and why that statement is true. There is never any separation, only the smaller individualized, defining borders to show the various creations of and from the Infinite—a creation of and from the Divine.

“Also take note that the image is without a label, without any distinguishing features. It is ‘creation’. It exists no matter what name humans call it. It needs no name, because it merely is.”

“Labels are an earthly means of identifying the different creations when you communicate with each other. Go beyond labels to the truth, to your Source, from where you are filled and fulfilled, no matter your situation—the being through which everlasting love flows continually whether your eternal Spirit is in or out of the physical body, and no matter the drama playing out around you.”

“Your uniqueness comes from being who you are in all situations whether pleasant or unpleasant. Don’t alter who you are like a color-changing chameleon to match what is around you merely for the purpose of becoming more popular, better liked, the fad of the moment, the superficial. Each being is incredible. Always live your truth. With integrity. With courage. With compassion. With forgiveness. Without exception.”

Meaning: This message is meant to encourage you to open up to the real truth of Jesus’ original messages he gave his life for us to know—to look at them from a different angle. What are some of these messages?

* He doesn’t want to be worshiped but to be considered a partner who, when you allow, works with and through you. (This is not to fear, but to welcome.)

* There is no hierarchy—all are equal in the eyes of the Creator. You are as important as anyone else, no matter whether president or janitor; all are loved equally by God.

* The Kingdom of God is within you, along with all of your Divine answers and assistance.

* You are one with the Source and all of the power and amazing support that comes in tandem with being one with the Power of the Universe.

* There is no vengeful God punishing you for any error, only a God of Love that loves you unconditionally.

 “Always live your Truth. With integrity. With courage. With compassion. With forgiveness. Without exception.” ~ Jesus

Expand Into the Boundless Infinite

The Shocking Revelation

If you have been following me, you are aware that Jesus called me to serve with him as part of a spiritual team. FYI, he is eager to co-partner with anyone who says “Use me.” Jesus is now my Spiritual Mentor/Guide and I’m blessed to receive Divine messages that are meant for everyone in order to help us all with our daily lives.

ONE OF THE most shocking revelations from Jesus is a truth that might alarm you, a truth I fought to disbelieve and was stubborn about accepting. However, stay with me on this before you pass judgment on what seems like a heretical statement. This truth is for you, too. For everyone.

What is this outrageous truth?

Through meditations, visions and conversations, Jesus repeatedly made clear to me—

He doesn’t want to be worshiped!

At first, I didn’t believe that message. How could I not worship him? The thought made me ill. Even worse, what if I misunderstood what he was trying to tell me?

Jesus said:

“I seek partners. I can best accomplish Divine work through you, with you as my hands, my voice and my presence, which is more difficult to accomplish when you are on your knees, head down, acting falsely as if you are separate, incapable and unworthy. Believing yourself weak and unworthy means you hold back, are hesitant, and are, in actuality, a hindrance. You believe a lie. That is not the truth of who you are.

“When you, God’s creation, consider yourself unworthy, unimportant, ‘only me’, you insult your Creator. What I seek with you is the embodiment of the truth of our Oneness, for you to allow eternal truth messages to flow through you to a spiritually-hungry world. To succeed with the most impact, you need to reorient to who you really are—a child of God, created by God from God. You couldn’t be more priceless, because you are created from the greatest there is.”

How do I know this is the truth? Because of the visions:

Whenever I tried to kneel in worship to him, he caught me before my knees touched the ground and pulled me to a standing position, insisting we are partners, a team.

 He said:

“I am your spiritual guide. Spiritual beings in human form are crucial to the partnership so that I can help the world, through you, especially when you stand strong in God-confidence.”

The one time I did succeed in kneeling before him, he immediately knelt with me, joining with me as one, saying:

“We truly are a team. I will meet you on whatever level you are.

“I ask you to allow me to work through you. I ask you to serve as a doorway through which spiritual truths flow. The one who benefits most is you.“

This message does seem in opposition to what we’ve been taught by others, and yet the truth shines through.

He said:

“God works best work with you, not as a worshiper who has falsely separated yourself from your Source (which is impossible), but as a partner.

“There is nothing to fear. I’m not going to ask you to do anything you don’t love and enjoy. You always have free choice. What will come through you is love. Love, for yourself and others. Embodying that love in all you say and do.”

The key: Jesus said…

“The key is in ‘allowing’ me to work through you. You are a vital part in the Divine plan, but I will never force you. You must be willing and available, and to give your permission. I wait for you to invite me in to your heart and say ‘Use me’. Then know that what comes through you is joy and harmony and all aspects of abundant love.”

Meaning: The meaning is clear, but the traditional teachings are more difficult to overcome. At first it feels heretical not to worship Jesus. I had to work past the traditional learning to what Jesus assures me is the truth. I finally understand that what he tells me makes perfect sense and I can see why Jesus is insistent he wants partners, not worshipers.

Worshipers are more work, to be honest. You have to drag protesting people to get them past the many misperceived barriers (lies) to accomplish anything. Barriers such as fear, hesitation, feelings of unworthiness and other negative thoughts. That is hard work. And time consuming.

Because people have free will, they make all kinds of excuses why not to do something and why they aren’t good enough. “Surely, God, you don’t mean me? I’m nobody. I can’t do it. I don’t have the skill. My mind is playing tricks on me to make me think you actually want me. Why me?” The excuses make me feel tired just to write them and, even more, makes me want to say, “Fine! Then I’ll go to someone who is willing to let me work through them. There is a job to do.”

To the contrary, a partner is ready to go. They have an equal stake in the outcome. They realize they are an important cog in the gears of the Universe because of their usefulness to the Divine, or why bother to exist? The conversation switches from “Why me?” to “Use me!”

This message is well worth your taking the time and effort to re-shift your thinking from the traditional to the truth. You are important. And really, doesn’t it make sense? That we serve as a Divine communication tool to help us and all of humanity? Agreeing is so simple. Merely ask. Invite.

“To succeed with the most impact, you need to reorient to who you really are—a child of God, created by God from God. How precious is that? You couldn’t be more priceless. You are created from the greatest there is.” ~ Jesus

Traditions and Misconceptions

If you have been following me, you are aware that Jesus called me to serve with him as part of a spiritual team. FYI, he is eager to co-partner with anyone who says “Use me.” Jesus is now my Spiritual Mentor/Guide and I’m blessed to receive Divine messages that are meant for everyone in order to help us all with our daily lives.

WELL-MEANING BUT incorrect teachings and traditions are difficult to overcome. After I started receiving Divine messages, I became confused and full of doubt because Jesus was taking me in completely different directions from what I had been taught as eternal truth. There is a lot of guilt attached to letting go of what we’ve been taught is God’s truth. I struggled with what to believe and not believe about what I had been taught growing up (not from my parents, but from church and society).

In a vision I received during a meditation:

Jesus and I merged as one, soaring high above the world and into the darkness of space. We swooped lower, flying over the night-blanketed ocean toward lights glowing on the distant shoreline. As we approached, we entered an ancient village, like in the Middle East in biblical times, with wheat-colored stucco buildings lined along narrow, dusty streets and people dressed in long robes and head coverings.

A white light spread out from the God within me casting a shimmering luminosity on the buildings and people.

Suddenly I was on the ground and bound in brown leather tethers. I couldn’t move! I couldn’t breathe! No matter how hard I struggled the leather held me imprisoned within the claustrophobic bindings. Panicked I mentally cried out for release.

As soon as I called out, Jesus lifted me and the tethers broke, freeing me. Breathing oxygen deep into my lungs, I spread my arms wide in joy, freedom and gratitude.

Jesus said:

“Like with the leather tethers, you are sometimes bound by old traditions and misconceptions that aren’t necessarily the truth. These man-defined restrictions hamper you from knowing the truth, even burdening you with guilt for questioning, binding you to false teachings.

“When you trust in your Creator, the Source shines the radiant, glowing light of truth within you, guiding you to what is real, liberating you from spiritually-impeding beliefs.

“By recognizing the truth, you are loosed from the misconceptions holding you in bondage and preventing your spiritual growth. You are freed to experience a truth that might be different from what you’ve been taught by well-meaning others who have done their best to explain the unexplainable.

“After those bonds of misconception are broken, you can truly grow and experience the fullness God intends for you.

“Open to new spiritual discoveries that allow you to expand into the boundless infinite that is not man-defined, but God-refined—freed from the impurities of false traditions and misconceptions.
